Fettuccine Alfredo


1 pkg cooked fettuccine
¼ cup butter
2-3 garlic cloves, minced
2 cups half & half
1TBSP chicken base
3 TBSP cornstarch
3 TBSP water
Pinch of nutmeg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
¾ cup grated parmesan cheese

Melt butter, add garlic and sauté until lightly browned. Add half & half and chicken base. Bring to a boil, stirring to keep from boiling over. Mix cornstarch with water and add slowly to mixture, stirring until thickened. Add parmesan and seasonings. Toss with cooked fettuccine. (Can also add chicken)
