Buttermilk Caramel Syrup

1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1 T light Karo syrup
1/2 t baking soda
1/2 t vanilla
1/2 t cinnamon

Combine first 4 ingredients.  Stir over medium heat.  Remove from heat and add rest (use larger pan; it will grow).  Stir until blended.  Good for 2 weeks in fridge.
